Break ke Baad

No, Not at all. this blog is not related to movie with same title. This blog bears no resemblance to any character living or dead in that movie..This blog draws no inspiration from that movie. I did not watch it either. It's just me trying to blog after a big gap...i guess more than 6 months...i did not check my last post in dashboard...okie let me get to point first..

Why am i blogging?

Because no other work.

Why no other work?

Because i am done with courses and exams and all that headache which most of my friends are going through..

So What next?

I don't know as of now yet...have some abstract thoughts...want to code something cool... learn something new...and have some fun...I am reading this book "God's Debris"..Its a fictional take on creation of universe and god and things like that..no it's not about religion..If u like to get tangled in ur brain, read it..some things the character says in the book are not true but appear convincingly true and u try to find a reason to prove it is wrong and u dont find one..it's interesting..read it if u can...i m yet to finish it..i read 10 pages and end up in thoughts trying to understand and reason what he meant...so its going on slow...

I got this thought about measuring human emotions and was wondering if we can measure acting..if we could do that, we can how good an actor is...but i cant think of how do it..your comments are needed....yes, dont hesitate...

Some of you must be wondering what does title Break ke Baad mean? Actually it means, after the break..

so what did i do in this break?

Actually if i look back and rewind the scenes in my brain, all i can think of is writing code. Let me try again, yeah after numerous trials, someone thought i was good enough to write code for them which i did gleefully, coz i din have any other option.. went to KC, its a beautiful place if you are a visitor, else its as boring as Indy. Then came back...got an RA..got busy with that...and tht's it...


Yeah, i cant think of anything else to put in this...

Not so quick update - 1

Well I'm back with yet another attempt to put some thoughts to paper(not paper literally..am going green)..Yeah, this sem was good but got finished very fast like other sems..i never realized when it started..looks like it finished before it started..

courses were not great, but interesting enough....enough about studies...what did i do this sem then?

- Attended interviews wearing funny looking formals( I just realised i blogged about this in last post, but bear the redundancy(no normalization here) one more time. Wish there was a world without formals...

- Numerous(actually not so many) assignments..projects blah blah blah..and so much of coding...

- Cheering DC...taunting other teams on FB....feeling bad and angry the way we played t20 world cup..what else can an average fan like me do when we play so horribly...it was as if they forgot how to hit a boundary..non sense...

- Realized FB is not just for social networking...u can put all the crap you want and later clean it too...(some people like me don't do it)

- Ate a lot in little i get to eat and drinking diet coke...and expanded my waist line...prosperity you see...

- Been to a theme park and man it was so freaking cold..did not enjoy much..i was so shit scared of the rides initially..but after one..everything looked(actually felt) the same...because every one were screaming and closing there eyes..:D:D:D

- On a quick unplanned road trip without a GPS and not so faulty google maps on iPhone..

- Not much of shopping...recession is'nt over yet, you see...

- Getting ready for summer internship...hoping it will be fun..

umm..this is all i can think of what has happened in my not so boring not so awesome routine life all this year so far...

And other updates...most of my friends might lose their bachelor status and freedom associated with it..it's gonna be interesting and exciting for them and for me too(because i get to pull their leg :D:D:D) on the same front.i have heard of so many break ups..no surprises...gals ditching boys...men never learn...women never change..

before some one brand me as MCP(male chauvinistic pig) lets move on to some other topic...

Am planning to visit places like Florida n Cali n Chicago this summer...lets see...some thing like a friends meet-up(Hangover types) and i am craving to go back to india...i m bored of this place...its all uncertain now .....

Months gone by......

Hey its been really long since i got time to write this piece of literature.....yeah, its been hectic last few months....feels like i was celebrating new year yesterday and 2 months and a week has passed by(infact flew away)..time's flying and at a supersonic speed...and i still cant believe that its been six months since i came here partly because my roomies are desis and eat a lot of desi food(courtesy them). So finally coming back to my experiments with life....

I have had a haircut twice in a month after 5 months and spent close to 50 bucks...and am still not satisfied with the end result....then i noticed that saloons here are little different..in the sense that you have to take appointment in most of the cases and apart from being expensive. I miss people ogling at pictures in movie gossip magazines and the personalized hair cut and oil massage at the end....And most importantly i noticed that in a particular saloon, they make people sit with their back facing the mirror..i was like wtf wats da use of having mirror then...

And continuing the tradition of IND US comparison there are more cars and less parking space...and you cant park anywhere you want...and finally it looks like the never ending snow season is coming to an end...man that was fun.i liked the winter and never felt that cold...and what was i upto in last few months applying to n number of companies for internships and attending interviews,career fairs and worst part wearing formals...for some reason i have perennial hatred for formal clothing...yes it makes you look good but it is very uncomfortable...

hey the best thing about career fairs is you get lot of goodies....i collected 2 bags(including bags) full of them..there were companies where i went only to collect the goodies.....and i also became fan of NFL..trust me its awesome...i have become 50% crazy about it and colts went till super bowl only to lose dramatically...hard luck guys..

Apart from that i was stuck with my work,midterms blah blah blah...and one more week and am hopefully out of this super busy phase for a while....in the mean time some thing happened...sachin crossed 200 mark in ODI.. i wasnt lucky to watch it live but have seen the highlights umpteen times...if any one deserved it, it was only him...Hail the Master...

And am doubly excited about IPL and F1...Both start on March 12....DC looks good but i some how feel KKR has an outside chance but i suspect DD mite take the cup..they are worth it...and in F1..ferrari is looking pretty sold but the old war horse schumi is back but not with the prancing horse...lets see if he can produce some magic wid Ross Brawn and Merc....

I think am done with my thoughts and words and more importantly patience to type any more.....i cant think of any thing at this point.. hopefully in my next blog may be i will have something interesting..

Worst Case...blah blah blah

I had posted on twitter this morning that Worst Case Scenarios are not always Worst and i guess this offended Gods upstairs... They wanted to prove me wrong..


Here i go in apparently the coldest day in Indy to a mall 50 miles away early(11 AM) in the morning on a Saturday to do some shopping..(It's the other side of the story that i did not do any shopping except for one shirt)..

All was well...sun shining through the clouds.. no sight of snow.. kinda perfect weather after many days...we had my must-eat subway and proceeded on a shopping streak.. visited Tommy, Nautica, Puma, Adidas, Nike,Van Huesen, Banana Republic, Lee etc etc..blah blah blah..

My Friend was on a high about shopping and did buy lot of stuff..and here we come to the parking to see his tyre is flat..now the flashback.he had a flat tyre yesterday and he changed it and put a new one on, which goes flat today.

Now we are stuck 50 miles away from Indy, with no help in sight on a Saturday Evening when every one's sitting in warmth of home watchin DVD's(from RedBox)or NFL.And the Towing truck can only take one along which might take another 2 hours to come.

So we called a friend of ours who came along with her husband to drop us back to Indy. Really i thank them a lot for such a big favor.. This whole experience made me realise that Worst Cases are always the Worst cases.. dump the perception..

I had a similar bad experience back in 2007, i was coming back from office on bike and avoided one route fearing that Police might catch me for a fancy number plate..and as it happens always, that fellow was waiting in the other route to stop me.. and as expected he asked me to pay some 200 bucks.. my luck was so screwed that i had only 100 bucks in wallet and he was not ready to negotiate..

I told him, Boss i will take your constable to nearest ATM and get you the money, but then he din wanna send his efficient sub-ordinate with me.. so i had to take an auto to go to the ATM which was again far away to get the money..Man that was one disgusting experience..

One more for me when i went to Nagarjuna Sagar..i had filled in petrol with all the money i had since the gas station guy did not accept my card.I was hoping to find an ATM so that i can withdraw money to fill fuel.I reached Sagar in afternoon and now i did not have money nor fuel. I found out there is an ATM on the other side of the DAM and DAM was closed for vehicular traffic. So i had to take a Detour to reach the ATM and i did not want to risk my fuel for that ATM. So i took Auto again(I guess i am indebted to Auto wallahs) and reached ATM. And guess what ATM was not working..:D:D:D:D

I waited close to 2 hrs then some one came to repair that damn thing and had a lil fight with the ATM guard and withdrew money and then enjoyed the rest of the trip..

So Finally, some situations are so bad that you cant help but laugh at urself..everything seems to out of your control....

in Vogue..or Not in Vogue.......

I was watching Aus vs Pak test match and i noticed that Mohammed Sami was wearing a wrist watch while playing.. I was wondering why would one need a watch while playing an outdoor sport like Cricket.. I am not sure if you need a watch while playing chess or carroms either....The most intriguing part is that most of the Stadiums have huge clocks just in case you want to keep track of time.. well that's a million dollar question as to why you need to wear watch while playing....any suggestions???

Keeping watches aside..what a spell of bowling it was.Asif and Sami destroyed Australian Batting.. Players Wearing watches reminds me of our former bowling coach/bowler Venkatesh Prasad who also used to wear watch while playing.. I guess that was seriously in vogue at that time..because players also used to wear funny looking goggles on the field in ridiculous colors like red/pink/yellow/purple etc...

Similar to this i think i vaguely remember Australian Swimmer Ian Thorpe wearing watch during some olympics. I dont think he would look at watch while swimming forget olympics..then what's the use..unless its some James Bond kinda watch which can do wonders.. I believe its more a matter of vogue or comfort levels that one feels while wearing watches etc than their actual use.

May be other sports persons also wear watches, like F1 or Athletics just for matter of comfort rather than any actual use.. because i cant imagine a f1 driver looking at time while driving at 350 kmph plus speeds.. he simply doesnt have time to look at watch... or Usain Bolt looking at watch while doing an 100m sprint...That is ridiculous... Is'nt it?

the yEaR gONE bY......

2009 was good... great in fact... it started off with we(me n babji) leaving office early and hanging out in Coffee Day with Chicha and Shopping etc etc..

The early part was interesting till Babji left for UK.. I miss all those second shows and we trying out various restaurants and Shopping expeditions...

Then as usual i was busy with Cricket(not work :D :D) over weekends and that's it... I was sure that i would come to US, so i took work a little easy, not that i did not work, i stopped doing extra work..

The started the pain of preparation of docs for Visa, Bank loan processing and all that crap which i wish i could have avoided. Ran around numerous times here and there till i got my visa and finally loan was approved before my departure.

My SBI experience was traumatic, terrible... I guess the process/system is like that..Anyways then my favorite part.. shopping.. did not do loads of shopping though...and landed in US as u all know in Aug.

From then till now it has been an different,enriching and entertaining journey. Learnt so many things... Did some many things for first time in my life ever....(like cooking, cleaning etc)..For some reason though i did not like US.. i like the climate.. may be i should have been a Polar Bear...(though my body suggests otherwise)

You all following my previous blogs must be knowing what am i upto... so leaving that part..saving you all from redundancy in information..lets fast forward to end of 2009..

My sem got over very fast for good...i did reasonably well...and then the boring part, holidays.. not doinh much except for working from home for some time and watching movies and counter strike on LAN...we celebrated 31st by inviting couple of friends for dinner. Cooked Kichdi, made Bajji's and watched some movie...

Many have been asking me what's my new year resolution.. umm i don have one because it's waste of time to have a resolution in first place and i don't think i would put sincere effort to achieve considering the fact that i was born lazy..

But yeah, i want to do couple of things this time..visit more places than i did in 2009(infact i did not travel much in 2009), learn more technology and put it to good use and be a better human being(last one sounds melodramatic)..

I would be interested in knowing your resolutions for 2010..

Xams...Xmas...etc etc

Okie..so finally its over.. the semester is over and man how fast it was..

It literally flew off.and am happy it did...if any one is wondering, how did it go..i would give 7/10, considering the fact that i was getting back to books after long time and it has got nothing to with how much i scored.. anyways chuck it and move on...

So what are my plans for holidays...nothing, absolutely nothing..ask me why? my economy is as bad as the US economy...am also on cost cutting mode like the IT Companies.. no hikes for employees, no shopping for me and things like that...

I wanna catch up with good sleep, watch some movies, play counter strike and that's it... Apart from this..i witnessed the snow for first time and have been seeing it since then quite often.how was it...it was like shaving foam thrown all over place...

It's the holiday season here in US, and i see the enthusiasm and excitement in people as we have it during festivals in INDIA... women throng malls for shopping and men waiting for them, mad traffic and exorbitant prices...luckily there is not that traffic here and prices.. i donno(u know why)..

I have been to one of the malls here, there were more people in Apple store than in whole of the mall...people are crazy about Apple and Colts in Indy.. they try and buy anything and everything associated with Colts, from the logos, towels, flags, door mats, seat covers and t shirts for them and their pets(no offense to pets).. no matter how expensive it is...

I am waiting for Xmas... my first in US...will it be a white Xmas ? Check weather.com..

I have watched UP, DEV D, Terminal, Catch me if u can, Matrix since yesterday.. suggest me few more..
